Course overview
Emergency First Aid at Work is a one-day course with a minimum of 6 hours of teaching. It introduces a systematic approach to first aid and balances theoretical learning with practical experience and realistic scenarios. People working in lower-risk workplaces, and organisations that need Emergency First Aid at Work training for a group.
What the course covers
The role of a first-aider, including preventing cross-infection, recording incidents and using available equipment
Assess situations and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
First aid to an unconscious casualty, including seizures
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
First aid for choking, wounds, bleeding, shock and minor injuries (cuts, grazes, bruises, burns, scalds and splinters)
Practical automated external defibrillator (AED) training
Practical learning
Learners practise CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) use, alongside other practical first-aid skills for workplace emergencies.
Qualification or certification
The course is FAIB-certified. The certificate is valid for three years.
