Course overview
Emergency Paediatric First Aid lasts for a minimum of 6 hours, excluding breaks. It follows the statutory framework for the early years in England, which sets the standards for first aid training required for workers caring for young children. Delivery is arranged for your organisation.
Who the course is for
Workers caring for young children in the absence of their parents, where training needs to be appropriate to the age of the children being cared for.
What the course covers
Assess an emergency situation
A baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
A baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
A baby or child who is having a seizure
A baby or child who is choking
A baby or child who is bleeding
A baby or child suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss
AED practical training
Practical learning
Delegates practise on first-aid equipment including baby and junior first-aid manikins. AED practical training is included.
Qualification or certification
The course is FAIB-certified. The First Aid certificate is valid for 3 years.
