Course overview
First Aid at Work Requalification is a two-day course with a minimum of 12 hours of teaching. It refreshes and re-tests the knowledge and skills from the 18-hour First Aid at Work course, including new and amended protocols. Delivery is arranged for your organisation.
Who the course is for
Organisations whose first-aiders hold an in-date First Aid at Work certificate and need the 12-hour requalification.
What the course covers
The fundamental workings of the body, in particular the heart, lungs and airway
Recognising the difference between healthy, ill and injured
Recording baseline measurements of vital body functions
A system to cope with incidents as safely as possible
New and amended protocols introduced since the original course
Practical learning
The course is a balance of learning and practical work, intermixed with scenarios of real situations.
Qualification or certification
Assessment is by observation of practical skills and oral questions, carried out by qualified assessors. The First Aid at Work certificate is valid for 3 years.
Prerequisites
Only candidates with an in-date First Aid at Work certificate can take this course. If the requalification is completed in the three months before the original certificate expires, the new certificate is dated from that expiry date.
