This week, Conwy Marina became a hub of essential maritime training as the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) First Aid Course was successfully delivered on behalf of Astronav.
Professional Training for Real-World Emergencies
The course was led by Allan Shaw of ashawexperience — a highly respected and engaging trainer with years of hands-on maritime experience. Under Allan’s expert guidance, participants gained practical skills and vital knowledge to deal with medical emergencies at sea.
From CPR and resuscitation techniques to handling onboard injuries and illnesses in remote environments, the training covered a wide range of lifesaving procedures. Each session focused on giving attendees the confidence to act quickly and decisively when it matters most.
Hands-On Learning That Makes a Difference
Attendees praised the course for its interactive and realistic approach, highlighting Allan’s ability to make each lesson informative, practical, and enjoyable. The use of real-life scenarios allowed participants to put theory into action, ensuring they left the course prepared for real-world situations where every second counts.
