One-day AED training course 

Half-day AED refresher course

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are now in place at many workplaces and leisure areas. 

It is seen as the effective therapy for cardiac arrest improving survival rates by reducing the time between collapse to delivery of the first shock.

The Content

SAFETY: self • bystanders • casualty

VITAL SIGNS: conscious level • breathing • colour • temperature

ACCIDENT PROCEDURE: Safe airway position (SAP)

CPR: cardiopulmonary resuscitation • UK and European Resuscitation guidelines

AED: Use of AED

 

The Candidates

Will be able to use the equipment in the right circumstances

Will need to refresh regularly to avoid skill loss

The Qualification

The AED training course is certified for 1 year.
